1. Name: Krishna Ellis

I met my husband on a blind date organised by friends. We hit it off immediately and were practically inseparable. I have always been an avid reader. And in my search for a mate had never been able to find a man who read. So the first time my husband invited me into his bedroom I spotted ” Poor fella, my country”. I was very impressed. I thought here is a thinking, reading, intelligent man. We married and after 12 years together, I found he is all those things. EXCEPT FOR READING. I always tell him he married me under false pretenses. I am forever trying to get him to read. Still he is a good husband and father.

2. Name : Clementine Ford

I owe my love of books to my mother. Due to my father’s job, we traveled a lot while I was growing up. Everywhere we went, I witnessed my mother devote the most profound love and care for her books, always refusing to leave any behind even when crossing large oceans. As morbid as it sounds, she has promised me her entire collection in her will and it means more to me than any jewelry collection. Anyway, my mother has often told me that when my brother and sister and I were little, she used to carefully place all of our books under our pillows at night, because she liked the magical idea that the words would whisper through our ears at night. I love to hear my mother tell that story, and her efforts have not been in vain: I love books, and want to be a writer myself.

I loathe his books so much I’m not even going to bother checking if I got the spelling of his name right. Awful, awful, awful stuff. Dross. Maybe I missed the chance to be with my Soul Mate, but…nah. Not if he’s so terribly misguided as that!
